Karen Lynnette Stephens, 46, of Spotsylvania County passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2013. She was born at Fort Bragg, N.C., on July 8, 1966, to Charles R. Stephens and Judy Stephens Rockwell.

Karen was a business analyst for the Defense Logistics Agency and had worked there for almost 29 years. She was an avid pet lover and supporter of the Fredericksburg SPCA.

Survivors include her mother, Judy Rockwell; brother John Rockwell; sisters Kathy Stephens, Michelle Washington (Frederick) and Sheri Rockwell; nieces and nephews Lauren Burnette, Brooke Washington, Maya Washington, Frederick Washington Jr., Miles Washington, Cheyenne Bicknell, Dakota Bicknell, Maxx Bryant, Justin Rockwell and Aiden Rockwell; and best friends Shahlaurie Rawl and Lori Maxwell. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles R. Stephens.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

A service will be held at noon Wednesday, May 29, at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fredericksburg SPCA, 10819 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg, Va. 22408.
