Carolyn Jean Kaderli Knopp passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 24th, 2019 at the age 82 years at the Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on November 25, 1936 in Seguin, Texas to Gilbert Thomas Kaderli and Charlotte "Lottie" Beatrice Knopp Kaderli.

She is survived by four daughters and one son-in-law: Karen & Greg Klein; Kathleen Knopp; Kimberly Knopp; and Kristy Knopp ; Grandchildren: Jason Hicks, Elizabeth Klein, Joseph Klein, and Jeremiah Luna; Two great granddaughters: Aislin Hicks and Natalie Luna; One sister, three brothers & spouses, Elaine McClaine; Gerald & Joan Kaderli; Tommy & Marty Kaderli; Greg & Eileen Kaderli; Sister in law, June, Mrs. Fridolin Kaderli.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, brother Fredolin Kaderli, and brother-in-law Russell McClaine.

She graduated from St. Mary's Catholic High School in Fredericksburg, Texas. After high school, she attended Seton School of Nursing in Austin, TX where she received her Diploma of Nursing in 1957 and became a Registered Nurse. After she became a RN, she worked nights at Seton Hospital when her children were young and after the family moved to Boerne, she worked night shifts until the youngest started school. She then became the Director of Nurses at Town and Country Manor and continued in that position for 22 years before she retired. She was compassionate, skilled, and would go above and beyond to ensure that the residents were cared for. She was honored to be the Director of Nurses of the Year for Summit Care Corporation in 1987 and 1991.

Carolyn was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She made sacrifices to ensure her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew they were loved. She raised her daughters to be strong women in their faith in God and in their lives. She was their best friend and mentor. She taught them love of God and neighbor through words and actions.

She had a quick wit, and a wonderful sense of humor, and was able to find the positive in any situation. She was a gifted with artistic abilities which included oil painting and sewing her children's clothes when they were young, as well as clothes for their dolls. She always made holidays special and loved to decorate inside and outside for each one. She loved gardening and baking, and while her arthritis limited some of these things, she continued to be active.

She was active in her community and her parish over the years. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Boerne and was a former member of the Altar Society. She also formerly served on the Kendall County Housing Board as well as the Kendall County Child Welfare Services board where she served as the chairperson for a term. After her retirement she volunteered as the Ombudsman at a local nursing home. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her and will be forever in our hearts.

A vigil service and rosary were held on Tuesday, September 3rd at the Schaetter Funeral Home chapel in Fredericksburg, TX. A Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated on Wednesday, September 4th, 2019 in the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fredericksburg.
