She is preceded in death by Parents Rube and Donnie Grandy, Husband James W. Adams, her four brothers and two sisters.
Virgie grew up in East Texas and married James in 1949. The two were together 63 years until 2012 upon his death.
She was the cofounder of Metro Diner in Dallas among other numerous restaurants in the metroplex. Virgie was very active in the front of the house operations, waiting tables early on and cashiering until 1995 when she retired.
Virgie always took extreme pride in her yard and her home. She cherished going back to east Texas for family reunions, Fish fries and playing cards with her brothers and sisters.
Her favorite times were having the whole family together during the holidays, especially Christmas. She was very outgoing, friendly, loyal, supportive, tough as nails and enjoyed life.
Virgie is survived by her children: Judy McVay, Linda Adams, Wayne Adams and wife, Leslie.
Her grandchildren: Darby McVay, Jason Bailey, Ben McGlaun, April Whalen, Heather Adams, Noah Adams and wife Sarah.
Her Great grandchildren: Andrew and Cameron Whalen.
She will be missed by her family and all who knew her.
Visitation will be held at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home on Saturday, August 31 starting at 1:30 pm, with Funeral Service at 3:00 pm in the chapel. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park.
