On Sunday morning, Nov. 3rd, 1918, God in his wisdom saw fit to take from this earth Grady, the little four year old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Duncan.
He was sick only a week with that dreadful disease diphtheria. His sufferings were great, but born without a murmur.
Our hearts are sad when we look at the unplayed with toys and the vacant chair, but we feel that it is our loss and Heaven's gain.
His remains were laid to rest at Concord cemetery, Hickory Level, services being conducted by Rev. J. R. Spear.
He has left us sad and lonely,
In this world of cruel pain;
But beyond this vale of sorrow,
Soon we hope to meet again.
