Peggy Marie Combs was born on December 14, 1933 to James Thomas and Mittie Combs in Clinton, Texas. She was a graduate of Bland High School. Peggy was baptized into Christ at the age of 14. Peggy married Carl M. Adams on December 8, 1952 in San Diego, California where he was a marine. Together they had four children, Teresa Marie, Julia Kay, Carla Jo and Philip DeWayne. She worked for GTE for 25 years, retiring in 1996. She also worked for an in-home health care facility for several years. She has been a member of the Broadway/Centerville Road Church of Christ since moving to Garland in 1958.

Peggy was blessed with 9 grandchildren, Matthew Wayne Hilton, Sarah Marie Hilton, Thomas Carl
Hilton, Aaron Joseph (AJ) Hilton, Lana Marie Massey, Steven Wade Buchanan (and wife Erin), Michael
Ned Buchanan (and wife Wendy), Joshua Mark Buchanan (and wife Keleigh), and James Philip Adams
(and wife Brooke). She was also blessed with 16 great grandchildren who call her GiGi, Caroline Marie

Grace Hilton, Andon Paul Massey, Julia Suzanne Buchanan, Mason Daniel Buchanan, Ashlyn Elizabeth Buchanan, Katelyn Grace Buchanan, Emmalyn Rose Buchanan, Tara Jo Buchanan, Matylin Moss Buchanan, Camryn Leigh Buchanan and Kynleigh Danielle Adams.

Peggy loved to cook, and she loved nothing more than to do for others. She received some of her greatest joys during the holidays. She loved to bake and there was never a shortage of holiday candies at her home. She also loved to give and at holiday times she loved to see the joy on the faces of her loved ones when they opened their gifts. And she was never short on the gifts. She always tried to make sure that everyone got what they wanted. And if there was an unexpected guest, she always had a gift she could wrap up quickly for them so they would not be left out. While she was in the nursing home, she would often talk about the holidays. She missed being able to shop and buy for others.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, J.T. and Mittie Combs, two brothers J.T. Combs (and his wife Lee Combs) and Johnny Combs and two sisters, Rita McAnn and Vela O'Neil(and her husband Herman O'Neil).

Peggy is survived by her four children, Teresa Hilton and husband Dennis, Juli Massey, Carla Buchanan and husband Ronny, Philip Adams and wife Amy, her 9 grandchildren and her 16 great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Joe Combs and one sister, Virginia Peacock.

Pallbearers will be James Adams, Thomas Hilton, A.J. Hilton, Matthew Hilton, Harrison Hilton and Jackson Hilton
