Age 72 years

Capt. Peter Angevine, of the War of 1812, and his second wife Esther Purdy, moved to a 300-acre farm in Niagra Co. about 1830-34, and his son Allen Angevine & Maria Harriet Warren lived there, too, when their first child was born. The Angevines had lived in Penfield earlier, Putnam Co. & Dutchess Co. before that (originally New Rochelle & Westchester Co.).

On Jan. 1, 1822, a year before Sarah Angevine's death, Allan B. Secor of Phillips Twp sold tracts of land to Peter Angevine for $4,340.00 (today's equivalent of $3 million) near Abraham Smith and others (Putnam Co. Deed Book A, pp.453-56). Allen Blair Secor (1791-1826), father of Saxton Secor (1821-1891), was a great-grandson of Jacques Sicard who came from La Rochelle, France to New Rochelle, N.Y. with the Angevines. In 1829, Peter and Sarah Angevine's son, 25-year-old George L. Angevine, purchased a tract of land adjoining his father's from the estate of Nathan Lane for $1,816.20, witnessed by Abraham Smith (Putnam Co. Deed Book E, pp.369-72). The 1830 census shows George L. next door to his father Peter Angevine.

Additional son of Peter and Sarah:

William Henry "Harrison" Angevine (1813-1870)
