Eleanor L. Krizman, 90, lifelong South Bend resident, passed away at 5:45pm on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Sanctuary at St. Paul’s in South Bend, Indiana. She was born on August 9, 1929 in Mishawaka, Indiana, to the late Maurice and Louise (VanDriesche) DeGeeter.

On January 19, 1952 in Mishawaka, Eleanor married Richard J. Seese, who preceded her in death on August 1, 1964. On January 23, 1970 in South Bend, she married Edward J. Krizman, who preceded her in death on October 27, 2012. She was also preceded in death by a son, Joseph R. Seese on December 4, 2014; step-daughter, Kathleen Sweet on June 27, 2019; son-in-law, Phil Sweet; granddaughter, Louise; and brothers, Robert, Albert, and Wilbert DeGeeter.

Eleanor is survived by sons, James R. (Janice) Seese of Granger, IN; William J. (Patricia) Seese of Clermont, FL; Thomas M. Seese of South Bend; and Keith W. (Kristen) Krizman of Osceola, IN; step-daughters, Karen (Thomas) Carlin of Lino Lakes, MN; Karla (William) Fitzsimmons of Granger; Kristina (Kevin) Luxton of Hendersonville, NC; Kim (Chris) Bearden of Roswell, GA; step-sons, Kurt (Cornile) Krizman of Savannah, GA, and Kevin (Ruth) Krizman of Germany; and daughter-in-law, Debbie Seese of Granger. Additionally, Eleanor is survived by 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Delbert DeGeeter of South Bend.

In her younger years, Eleanor worked for five years at Wheelabrator-Frye and for eleven years at Woolworth’s in Mishawaka. She was a longtime member of Knollwood Country Club and a lifelong member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Granger.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Friday, September 6, 2019 in St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Road, Granger. Graveside services and burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00-11:00am at the church prior to Mass on Friday. Palmer Funeral Home—Hickey Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
