Wilford Claude Skelton, age 94, of Silsbee, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2019.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 19, 2019, at 1:00 PM, at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee, Texas.
Interment will immediately follow services at R.S. Farmer Cemetery in Silsbee, Texas.
Wilford was born on Tuesday, May 5, 1925, in Rusk County, Texas to parents, Aura (King) and Marion Claude Skelton.
Wilford was a man of many trades and enjoyed life to the fullest. He made a career with Southwestern Bell as a toll test board worker and then later retired from the company. Wilford served his country as a proud soldier in the United States Army Air Corp, which is now known as the United States Air Force. He had a true passion for gardening and did so his whole life with a magnificent green thumb. Family was everything to Wilford and he enjoyed every minute that he got to spend with them. He was a proud member of the Family Worship Center church in Beaumont, Texas. He loved his church family and considered them his extended family. Wilford was a son, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who will forever be loved and missed by all who knew him.
Wilford is preceded in death by the love of his life of 60 years, Billie Jean Skelton, as well as his brother, Clifford Skelton.
Wilford is survived by his children, Jerry Skelton and wife Paula, Keith Skelton and wife Cresen; grandchildren, Dr. Jen Sunday and husband Matt of Maine, Adam Skelton and wife Jenilee of Denton, Texas, Luke Skelton and wife Jessica of Conroe, Texas and Matt Skelton and wife Jenna of Port Coquitlam British Columbia, Canada; and twelve great grandchildren.
