A respected lifelong citizen and friend of Dalton and Whitfield County, Georgia, we come to celebrate and honor the life of Mr. Michael Eugene Starks. Affectionately known to most as "Baldy", he began his journey of life on November 23, 1952, born to the parentage of the late Mr. Forrest Starks, Sr. and Mrs. Lillie Mae Sims.

His early steps were led by his family to New Hope Baptist Church, where he joined at a young age under the pastorate of the late Dr. Walter M. Brown. Michael received his formal education in the Dalton Public School System. He graduated from Dalton High School in the Class of 19671 and was a member of the basketball team. Later, he also played on the team for Dalton Junior College.

Michael was united in Holy Matrimony to Ms. Patricia Phillips, and one child was born to the union.

After several years, Michael enlisted in the U.S. Army on December 4, 1975, and was honorably discharged on December 18, 1978 after serving overseas in Korea. He continued his professional goals with employment at Shaw Industries, laying carpet, and with G&C Rubber, where he worked for numerous years.

Preceded in death by his father, Mr. Forrest Starks, Sr. and two brothers, Mr. Terry Starks and Mr. James Henry "Jolly" Sims.
