George Donald French (Don), age 94, of Maryville, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of August 27, 2019.
Don was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming throughout his life. His tall tales and humor brought a smile to all who knew him and his devotion to his family was evident. His memory will be greatly cherished.
Preceded in death by parents, James H. and Dicie (Bohannon) French, and siblings, J.B. French, John H. French, Dorothy Giffin, and Shirley Corbett.
Don is survived by his wife of 68 years, Bobbie Sue French and daughters and sons in law, Donna and Terry Jenkins, Betty and Richard Kirkland, Carol and Cliff Hodge and Linda and Bill Ball and son and daughter in law, John and Jami French. Also survived by grandchildren, Mandy Clement, Tara Onks, Brian and Jason Kirkland, Leigh Anne Graves, John Ball, Brea Morgan and Erika Johnson as well as 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Also survived by his sister, Wanda Maxwell and 3 nephews and 2 nieces.
Family will receive friends 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville. Funeral service will be held 6:00 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2019 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Bro. Marquiel Baker officiating. Entombment service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Grandview Cemetery.
