Wanda "Pug" Matthews was born on September 17, 1926 in Parma, Missouri to the late Clyde Corn & Clara Mae Mitchell Corn. She departed this life on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at the Malden Nursing Center in Malden, Missouri at the age of 92 years 11 months and 7 days.
Wanda "Pug" Matthews graduated from Clarkton High School after graduation she attended college at Southeast Missouri State University where she earned a masters degree in education. She was a retired elementary teacher having taught at the Malden Schools. Wanda was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Malden where she taught Sunday school for many years. On November 29, 1946 she was united in marriage to Berline Matthews in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on January 19, 2004.Her survivors include:
1 Son: Scott Matthews & wife, Ann of Malden. 2 Daughters: Pamela Long & husband, Phil of Blytheville, Arkansas and Cheryle (Chickie) Michel & husband, Steve of Malden. Grandchildren: Kyle Selby, Shawn Selby, Scott Matthews, James Matthews, Bobby Matthews, Travis Matthews, Andy Matthews & Patrick Matthews. 5 Great-grandsons and 9 Great-granddaughters Sister: Betty Gray & husband, Bob 2 Brothers: Pat Corn & wife, Ida Lee and Sherman Corn
She was preceded in death by 9 brothers & sisters.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden from 6-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Aulden LeBlanc. Mr. Scott Matthews & Mr. Travis Matthews officiating.
Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetry in Malden.
