Leon Haught, 81, of Whitney, and formerly of Prairie Hill, passed away Monday, August 26, 2019 at his home.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 31 at Wade Funeral Chapel in Hubbard with Mr. Jimmy Tucker officiating. There will be no formal graveside service, but Leon will be laid to rest in Mount Calm Old Town Cemetery after the services at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening, August 30 at the funeral home.

Leon was born February 5, 1938 in Prairie Hill to Desmond and Nora (Little) Haught. He was raised in the Prairie Hill area where he attended public schools.

Leon was self employed in the construction business and lived most of his adult life in Mesquite before moving to Polk County in 2007 to be near his daughter. They moved back to Hill County near Whitney in March of this year.

Leon was a Dallas Cowboys fan and also enjoyed hunting and horse racing and owned several race horses at one time.

He was preceded in death by his parents; the mother of his children, Sue Haught; son, Keith Haught; a brother, Donald Haught and a sister, Bobbie Adair.

Survivors include his daughter, Debra Thomas and Leslie Reber of Whitney; his former wife, Jean Haught of Mesquite; two sisters, Betty Frost of Granbury and Barbara Lester of Caddo Mills; three grandchildren, Brian Thomas and wife, Carrie of China Spring, Justin Haught and wife, Amanda of Raleigh, North Carolina and Cody Haught and wife, Shelbi of Gordonville; nine great-grandchildren, Knox Haught, Kenleigh Haught, Marlee Haught, Koen Haught, Emry Haught, Olive Haught, Carolynn Thomas, Brian Thomas and Micah Hunter; nine nieces and nephews, Dan Haught, Christi Haught, Diane Lovelady, Wynona Adair, Anita Johnson, Mike Frost, David Frost, Mark Frost and Steve Garner and numerous other extended family members and friends.
