Professional Football Player. For six seasons (1975 to 1980), he was a running back with the Washington Redskins and San Diego Chargers. Born Malcolm Thomas, he made his initial impact on the football field during his years at Greenville High School in Texas. He continued on the collegiate level at the University of Oklahoma and later transferred to the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Selected by the Washington Redskins during the 5th round of the 1975 NFL Draft, he totaled 77 career regular season games. Thomas was named 1975 Offensive Rookie of the Year and the with following season (1976), he topped the 1,000 rushing mark with his 1,101 yards and achieved Pro-Bowl honors. He compiled 4,196 career running yards, with 19 touchdowns. After retiring from football, he worked in the oil industry.
