Professional Basketball Player. He was a guard for nine seasons (1967 to 1976) in the National Basketball Association, with the Detroit Pistons, Houston Rockets and Omaha/Kansas City Kings. He was a member of two NBA All Star Teams (1970, 1972) and enjoyed his most successful season in 1971-1972 when he scored 1,665 points, with 315 assists. During his college years, he was a standout player at Providence, where he set numerous team records. In 698 career NBA games, Walker scored 11,655 points, with 2,429 assists. He died of lung cancer.
