The community was grieved to learn of the death of Mrs. Job Allen Sunday afternoon. Funeral services were held at the M.E. church (sic) Wednesday afternoon; interment was made in the Oak cemetery. -- Oak (Special Correspondence.)

Mary K. Chenoweth (known to many as Aunt Molly Allen) daughter of Noah and Eliza Chenoweth, was born May 29, 1845, at Cornland, Ills., and departed this life March 20, 1932, aged 86 years, 9 months and 21 days.

In February 1886 (sic), she was united in marriage with Job Allen. In 1872 she followed him to Oak where they homesteaded a mile south of Oak, and in her sixty years' (sic) of residence here never resided a (sic) more than a mile from her first home.

To this union were born nine children, eight of whom are living. They are, Taylor Allen, Samuel Allen, Mrs. Sam Cox, and Mrs. Irvine Dudley, all of Sheridan, Wyo.; Mrs. Eliza Elsworth of North Platte, Nebraska; Mrs. Minnie Washington of Oak; Mrs. Amos Neer of Neodesha, Kans.; and Mrs. A.W. Taylor of Prescott, Wash. She was preceded in death by a son, Job Allen, a son of eight months, and her husband who passed away in 1915.

Besides her children, she leaves to mourn her departure, 41 grand children and 52 great grand children, and many other relatives and friends.

"Aunt Molly" as she was known to everyone, was converted as a young girl in Illinois, joinging the church there. On January 20, 1918, she united with the Methodist church at Oak and was faithful until death. She was also a member of the Eastern Star lodge which had charge of the service at the grave. The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon.
