Poet and Author
Kelsey began writing at an early age and wrote for various Magazines and news papers such as the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Sun, Nov 28, 1909, (Pirate Treasure, pg 20) and the Virginian-Pilot, Sat Nov 12, 1910 (Indian Summer, pg 5). Additionally, she compiled the book "The Kitchel Family- Ancestors and Descendants".

Kelsey married Howard Green Bayles on Wed, Jan 19, 1910, in the First Presbyterian church, Newark , NJ at 10 O'clock in the AM. After the wedding they sailed at Noon from New York on the steamer "Brazor" , of the Mallory Line, for Aguascalientes, Mexico. The week before the wedding Miss Kitchel was re-elected secretary of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. She and her family traveled a fair amount by ship through out Central America, west coast of South America, and the Caribbean.

Kelsey's parents were F. W. Kitchel and Florence Percival.
