She was a former member of Central United Methodist Church in Knoxville, TN. She was a graduate of Holston High School and the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, and went on to receive a master's degree from Peabody College. She retired from Metro-Nashville Public Schools where she was a teacher and guidance counselor. She loved college football, collecting antiques, reading, playing bridge, and spending time with her daughters and grandsons.
Preceded in death by parents Robert and Dorothy Tuttle of Knoxville, and her sister, Sue Tuttle Cockrum.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Emily Lawson Crowell and Robert Crowell of Franklin, TN, and Margaret Lawson Thomas and Roy Thomas of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Mason and Eli Thomas, and Campbell and Evan Crowell; and brother-in-law, Bill Cockrum.
Visitation will be held at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home in Franklin, TN on Wednesday August 15th from 4-7 pm. A visitation will be held at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel in Knoxville, TN, on Friday August 17.
