She was born October 6, 1942 in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Ralph and Sigrid (Hansen) Thorsen. Sonja graduated from Kingsford High School in 1960 and was a lifelong resident of the area. She married Norman Johnson on August 17, 1963 at Immanuel Baptist Church. She enjoyed baking, cake decorating and needlework, especially sewing and cross stitch. Sonja loved reading and was frequently found reading her Bible. Her caring demeanor naturally resonated into serving her family and others. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed.
