Mrs. Doris Marie (Streeter) Collins, 69, of Jefferson City, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at St. Joseph's Bluffs. She was born on November 21, 1949, in Clinton, Mo., a daughter of The Reverend Robert Henry and Pansy Marie (Morris) Streeter. She was married on November 28, 1992, in Jefferson City to Jon Wesley Collins. Doris attended Bunceton High School and was a 1968 graduate of Jefferson City High School. She graduated from Capital Business College and began her 31 year long career with Central Dairy. Through her hard work and determination, Doris rose to become a bookkeeper until her retirement in 2002. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church where she was active in participating and teaching the Girls In Action Group. Doris also enjoyed family gatherings, jigsaw puzzles and countless shopping trips to Branson. While not a crazy cat lady, Doris always had feline companions, each of which she extravagantly spoiled. Doris will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, sense of humor and candor. Survivors include: her husband, Jon Collins of Jefferson City; brother, Robert Streeter (Sally) of Jefferson City; and nieces, Amanda Streeter of Jefferson City and Katheryn Bisans (Dee) of Centralia. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Donna Streeter. Visitation will be held at Cornerstone Baptist Church from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 26, 2019. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Cornerstone Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Credille officiating. Graveside services will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Jefferson City.
