Elizabeth A. "Beth" Martyak of Allentown died Wednesday, July 22, in her home. She was the wife of Dr. Gabriel Martyak. They were married for 27 years last August.
She was a teacher at Marple-Newtown Junior High School, Marple-Newtown, Delaware County, 1970-73, and at the former Grebey Junior High School, Hazleton, 1968-70.
She was a 1968 graduate of the College of Misericordia, Dallas, Luzerne County.
Born in Hazleton, she was a daughter of Betty (Matas) Burns of Freeland, Luzerne County, and the late Thomas Burns.
She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Orefield.
Survivors: Husband and mother; sons, Gregg of Allentown and Jonathan, at home; daughters, Megan and Carrie, both of Allentown; brother Thomas of San Diego and a sister, Kathleen, wife of Floyd Wiest of Hazleton.
