ARMSTRONG, Loretta Jewell Loretta was born June 16, 1941, in Dallas to parents, William H., Sr. and Elva Jewell Few. She attended Dallas schools, graduating from high school in 1959. She soon was employed by Barnett "Barney" Goodstein in his law firm. Her 35-year career in the attorney's office was her forte. Barney would often say she possessed the knowledge to be an attorney if only she had the "shingle."She met D. C. Armstrong; they were married in January 1960. Their only child, Danny, was born the following year. After Danny earned his A&M and Chiropractic Degrees, she and D. C. chose separate directions, and Loretta then focused her attention on "Dr. Dan" and her career. Along the way, she and a long-time client/friend became business partners and later, in 1992, she and Ben Land became marriage partners. Loretta became a Christian at a young age and served her Savior her entire life. For the last 35 years, she has been a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Irving, serving on several committees, often sharing her legal expertise with members.Loretta will be remembered as a being "private," "feisty" and "elegant." Loretta is survived by her only son, Daniel Clay Armstrong, and wife, Missi; one sister, Doris Tidwell; brothers, William H. Few and wife, Joan; and Freddie Few and wife, Jane. She is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, as well as great-nieces and -nephews.She was preceded in death by both parents; a brother, Max Few; brother-in-law, Billy Tidwell; Dr. Dan's dad, D. C. Armstrong; and husband, Ben Land. Visitation will be 6pm to 8pm Monday, August 26,2019 at Rhoton Funeral Home.
