Randy Murphy of Warsaw, Indiana heard the words “well done, my good and faithful servant” on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at the age of 63.

He was born on May 31, 1956 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Larry and Peggy Murphy. As a freshman at the University of Georgia, Randy accepted Christ as his personal Savior and it forever changed his life. After graduation, he went on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ, where he served at Tulane University and in the Soviet Union before marrying his wife for life, Cheri, on September 10, 1988. Together, they served with Crusade in Poland and at the Worldwide Headquarters in Orlando, Florida. Randy and his family moved to Warsaw, Indiana in 2002. He liked to laugh, he loved a hard day’s work out in the yard or around the house, had a very inquisitive mind and loved to research. As a loyal Georgia Bulldawgs, Cincinnati Bengals and Reds fan, Randy loved following his favorite teams and watching their games with his family. He finished his working career in sales for Mars Wrigley Confectionary.

Randy’s greatest treasures in life were his Savior, Jesus Christ and his family. His favorite verse, Romans 5:8 affirms, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Randy lived with the joy of knowing that he was deeply loved by his Heavenly Father. He will always be remembered as a man who walked faithfully with Jesus and was dedicated to his wife and children.

Randy will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 31 years, Cheri Murphy (Warsaw, Indiana); daughter, Kaitlyn Murphy (Winona Lake, Indiana); sons, Ryan (September) Murphy (Kokomo, Indiana); Brandyn Murphy (Warsaw, Indiana) and Jonathan Murphy (Warsaw, Indiana); sisters, Colleen Lindsay, Shari (Jerry) Wing, Barb (Randall) Dennis, and Sue (Naosuke) Umezaki; and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
