Jack enjoyed traveling, hunting and fishing. He frequently pursued his passions by traveling the world and sharing his knowledge with others; from such memories as guiding hunting and fishing parties in Alaska, pulling up lobsters from the Ocean/Gulf of Mexico in Jamaica/Acapulco, parking his RV "Rocky" on the beaches of Mexico and trying to find every "tough" bar in North America.
Jack is survived by his children Tammy (Brian) Mitchell, Jacquie (Jack) Hogue and Lynn McFall. Grandchildren: Cory (Melinda) Robinson, Kevin (Stephanie) Robinson, Anthony (Dawn) McCarty, Cody Pritchett, Candy (Ben) Van Zant, Krystal (Kody) Winchell, sixteen great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. All of which loved spending time with him listening to his many stories.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Mary Jane Jenks and brother Charles D. McCarty Sr.
Visitation will be held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service in Bedford on Sunday from 4:00- 6:00 PM. A memorial service will be held Monday at 11:00 at the Country Chapel United Methodist Church in Dowling with Pastor Rick Foster officiating. Following services, family and friends will gather for a luncheon at the American Legion in Hickory Corners. A private family burial with military honors will take place at a later date at Union Joy Cemetery in Michigan where he will be laid to rest with his parents.
Memorial tributes may be made by simply remembering the legacy of "Action Jackson" McCarty. May he never be forgotten.
