Carolyn Sue Haynes, 77, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday August 24, 2019 in Union Hospital.

She was born December 13, 1941 in Terre Haute to David W. Haynes and Opal M. Wagle Haynes.

Survivors include one brother, David D. Haynes and his wife Nancy of Terre Haute; brother-in-law Leason Pruner of Apollo Beach, FL; niece, Lisa Jo Pruner Bush of Riverview, FL; nephews, David Pruner and his wife, Laura of Bradenton, FL, David (Beau) Haynes, Jr. and his wife Jessica of New Orleans, LA, Christopher Haynes and his wife Courtney of Chicago, IL, Charles Haynes and his wife Elissa of Chamblee, GA, Geoffrey Haynes and his wife Kayla of Terre Haute; and great nieces and nephews, Hannah Christine Bush, David Miller Haynes, Wilson Templeton Haynes, Carter Michael Haynes, George Templeton Haynes, Hadley Kristine Haynes, and Lila Everly Haynes.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Judy Kaye Haynes and Mary Jo Ann Pruner; great niece, Haley Bush; and great nephew Jarrod Bush.

She was a member of Delta Upsilon chapter of Delta Sigma Phi sorority and the “Sisterhood” (formerly Red Hat Society) and enjoyed these friendships for many years.

Carolyn was a 1959 graduate of Garfield High School and a proud Purple Eagle. She was a loyal, dedicated, and respected employee of Reuben H. Donnelley (Donnelley Directory) for 35 years in sales accounting. She was a beloved sister and aunt, and treasured her “aunt-hood”.

Memorial services will be conducted at 4:00 PM Saturday, August 31, 2019 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street, with Pastors Kathi and Jim Elliott officiating. Private burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park at a later date. Visitation is scheduled prior to services from 2:00 – 4:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to P.I.N.K. of Terre Haute, PO Box 3333, Terre Haute, Indiana 47803 or the Vigo County Education Foundation, 686 Wabash Avenue, PO Box 3703, Terre Haute, Indiana 47803.
