Samuel David Scott, 87, Mohall, died Friday, August 16, 2019, at a Minot hospital.
He was born May 20, 1932, in Langdon, to Samuel and Elsie (Konze) Scott. He attended grade school at Loam #1 and graduated from Langdon High School in 1951.
Sam served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 until being honorably discharged on November 11, 1955. He served as a diesel mechanic aboard the U.S.S. L.S.U. #3 in Japan, China and Korea during the Korean War.
Sam married Audrey Baggett on July 7, 1958, in Langdon. They lived in Tioga, Lignite and Mohall where Sam worked in the oil fields. He worked as a rough neck, drilling superintendent, production superintendent and started Scott’s Oilfield Pumping Service. Audrey died March 26, 2019.
Sam was a member of the New Horizons Church of the Nazarene and the George T. Taylor American Legion Post #52, Mohall.
Family: sons, Sam (Diane) Scott Jr., Hillman, MN, Steve (Loretta) Scott, Mohall, and Stan (Twyla) Scott, Mandan; stepdaughter, Cindy Greywind, Fargo; 14 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Lawson, Williston; sister-in-law, Mae Anderson, Minneapolis, MN; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Sam was preceded in death by: his parents; wife; sisters, Evelyn Ryan and Shirley Agre; and brothers, Robert, Albert, Hugh and Ralph Scott.
