John Spencer "Jack" Allen Jr was born on February 1, 1904 in DeKalb County, Tennessee, and he was the son of John Spencer "Jack" Allen Sr (1872–1939) and Sarah Lenora "Nora" (Webb) Allen (1878–1947).

He was married 1st about 1926 to Evelyn Wilson (1907-1989), and they had several children before getting divorced. He was married 2nd sometime after the 1940 census to Bessie "Irene" Simmons (1903-1975), and she was daughter of Nicholas Valentine Simmons (1875–1958) and Ardelia Josephine (Tate) Simmons (1879–1950).

Jack retired in 1946 as a bookkeeper for the Smithville Selective Service Board because of a heart condition, and living at 911 16th Avenue South in Nashville, he was 50 years old, married to Irene and had arteriosclerosis when he died a heart attack at home on March 19, 1954.

Survivors included his widow Irene Simmons Allen, son Billy Allen in Memphis, Tennessee and daughter Carolyn Allen of Gulfport, Mississippi.

Funeral Services were held on March 22nd at Roesch Funeral Home, and burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery, Madison {city, not county}.
