Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, August 29, 2019, at the Homewood Community Bible Church, 1795 Idaho Road, Williamsburg.
Family will meet with friends from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at the church.
Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery, Williamsburg.
Gene was born at home June 17, 1933 south of Homewood in Franklin County. He was the son of Earl Roy and Agnes Eva (Guy) Adams.
He was a lifelong resident of rural Franklin County.
He attended a one-room schoolhouse in Sac Creek, and later graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1950.
Gene wed Ople Arlene Shores November 7, 1953. They celebrated 65 years 8 months and 23 days of marriage.
Gene was a lifelong farmer.
He was a member of Homewood Community Bible Church. Gene enjoyed traveling with his family, camping, boating and his love of farming.
Gene is survived by his wife, Ople; five children, Vickie Stinebaugh and husband James, Linda Snider and husband Kevin, Judy Huggard and husband Randy, Sandi Suther and husband Joe, and Shane Adams and wife Mandi.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Pat Carey; and an infant daughter, Kathy Marie.
Gene will be greatly missed by 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson, and many relatives and friends. Through it all we are rejoicing knowing he is with the Lord and Savior Jesus.
