Born circa 1934, Sister Kathryn Margaret Walsh C.S.J., was a sister of St. Joseph for 67 years. Kathryn ("Peggy") was the daughter of Catherine M. Reilly (1906-1963) and Paul F. Walsh (1902-1980) and grew up in St. Francis of Assisi Parish. She attended Bishop McDonnell High School and upon graduation she entered the congregation.

Having received a bachelor's degree in History from St. Joseph College, Brooklyn, Peggy taught elementary school in St. Brendan's and St. Patrick's and came to teach at Transfiguration in 1959. Her ministries also included Southside Mission, Williamsburg, 1977–2008.

Father Jason Espinal, parochial vicar at Our Lady of Angels Church, Bay Ridge, knew Sister Peggy since childhood. He said she's now being repaid for the selfless way she lived. "Sister Peggy, today we bid farewell to her with the sure and certain hope that because she lived her life out of love for others, the Lord will reward her, that was just the kind of person she was."

Mass of Christian Burial: Transfiguration Church.
Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Brentwood.
