Having received a bachelor's degree in History from St. Joseph College, Brooklyn, Peggy taught elementary school in St. Brendan's and St. Patrick's and came to teach at Transfiguration in 1959. Her ministries also included Southside Mission, Williamsburg, 1977–2008.
Father Jason Espinal, parochial vicar at Our Lady of Angels Church, Bay Ridge, knew Sister Peggy since childhood. He said she's now being repaid for the selfless way she lived.
