Obituary for Mr. Clarence Harroll Bennett

Mr. Clarence Harroll Bennett, 87, died Saturday, August 24, 2019, at his home. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 31, 2019, at Evergreen Cemetery in Chester with Rev. Dr. Robert Hensley officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the family home in York.

Mr. Bennett was born November 24, 1931 in Enterprise, Alabama and was a son of the late Tillman Oscar Bennett and Vivian Timms Bennett. He was a graduate of Smith High School in Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Bennett was a retired veteran having served in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. He served during the Korean War. Mr. Bennett was a member of the VFW of Rock Hill and also the NRA. He was a member of Kings James Baptist Church in York.

He is survived by two sons, Michael Bennett (Lena) of York, SC and Terry Bennett (Cheryl) of Oviedo, Florida; eight grandchildren, Patty Bennett, Michael Bennett, Bridgett Bennett, Ronald Bennett (Shannon), Kristie Melendez (Jose), Stephen Bennett (Candace), Kristen Bennett and Harry Bennett; fifteen great grandchildren; one brother, Charles W. Bennett of Hammond, IN; and two sisters, Margaret Fahey (Ferdinand) of Sandersville, GA and Gloria Skipworth (James) of San Angelo, TX; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by his wife, Lela Jeanette Ewing Bennett.
