Wanda Lou Fisher of McKinney, Texas, passed away on August 23, 2019, at the age of 97. She was born on August 28, 1921, to Emory F. and Nina Rachel (Corn) Harben in Verona, Texas. Wanda was a 1939 graduate of McKinney Boyd High School and later attended North Texas State Teachers College, now University of North Texas, in Denton, Texas. She married Jack L. Fisher on November 3, 1940, in McKinney, Texas.

After teaching at Bolby and Bloomdale schools in Collin County during the nineteen forties, Wanda resigned to become a devoted wife, mother, and daughter, and was a dedicated helpmate to her husband, Jack, as they grew their dairy farming business northwest of McKinney, and still found time for gardening, canning, sewing, and substitute teaching. She was a very active member of Wesley United Methodist Church, where, at various times over the years, she was a member of United Methodist Women, served as Sunday School teacher, typed the church bulletin, baked bread for communion services, and had great fun with the quilting group, the "Piecemakers."

She is survived by her children, Ronnie Fisher and wife, Carla, of McKinney, Texas, Tim Fisher and wife, Carla, of Carrollton, Texas, Linda Ghormley and husband, Tim, of Rockwall, Texas, Nina McClellan and husband, Hulion, of McKinney, Texas and Mary Youree and husband, Jeff, of Whitewright, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and numerous other loving family and friends.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Fisher; parents, Emory and Nina Harben; granddaughter, Susan Fisher; daughter-in-law, Lee Fisher; brothers, Jesse Harben, Halmon Harben, Paul Harben, Guy Harben, and L.B. Harben; and sisters, Estee Miller, Alice Strickland, Eva Harben, Ophelia Harben, and Viola Hollen.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 26, 2019, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
