Naomi “Jean” Lindsey Cooper of West Monroe, Louisiana entered into Heaven on Thursday, August 22nd at age 89. Born January 16, 1930, in Urbana, Arkansas to Annie and Adolph Lindsey. Naomi was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clarence G. Cooper Jr. and beloved brothers Max and Johnny.

She grew up in the Farmerville/Bernice area. She graduated from Farmerville High and moved to Monroe to work for the telephone company. It was while shopping for a purse at Butler’s Shoe Store that she met her husband of 62 years. They raised their two daughters together and her family meant the world to her. Their home was the place to be for Sunday dinners, birthdays, and holidays. She enjoyed cooking for her family and working in her yard. She was a long time member of Ridge Avenue Baptist Church. She was a praying Wife, Mother and Grandmother and she always let you know she was praying for you.

Left to treasure her memory are her daughters Sharon Parks and husband Dannye, and Kathy Hammett and husband Tim. Her grandchildren Shea Albritton and husband Scott, John Parks and wife Dr. Adrienne Williams, Brandon Parks and wife Heather, Megan Hammett and Whitney Hovey and husband Rand. Great grandchildren Danielle Smith and husband Brett, Spencer Evans and wife Jordan, Savannah and Emma Albritton, Joe Cooper Parks, Cooper and Banks Hovey. Great- great grandchildren Asher and Jude Smith, Emerie and Stella Evans. She also leaves an uncle James “Sonny” Bennett and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held at Ridge Avenue Baptist Church Sunday, August 25th at 2:00 P.M. until 3:30 PM with a private graveside service at Hasley Cemetery officiated by Jim Wolfe to follow.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ridge Avenue Baptist Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
