William faithfully executed his duties in service to our nation, honorably discharged from Battery C, 104th Field Artillery of the New York National Guard on 25 March 1956 with the rank of Specialist 3rd Class. He then served in the regular U.S. Air Force as Airman Second Class until being honorably discharged on 25 March 1960.
He continued to serve his community, signing up with the Freeport Police Department, serving from 1960 until his retirement in 1986.
Beloved husband of the late Caroline. Loving father of Bill Hastings and Louise Pollera.
Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Family will receive friends.
