Winston Salem – Mr. Santford “Sandy” Lee Barnette, 80, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, August 22, 2019. Sandy was born in Wilkes County on July 27, 1939 to the late Virgil and Alma Barnette. Sandy retired from Billings Mechanical. He was an avid outdoors man, He loved bee keeping, hunting and Bluegrass music. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, five brothers, and a son in law, Larry Hall.

Surviving are; his wife Rosalee Billings Barnette of 53 years, two daughters; Debra Bare and husband Dennis “Pooh”, Susie Hall, son, Randy Barnette and wife Kelly, six stepchildren, 17 grandchildren, one sister, two brothers, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Bible Revival Minitries with Pastor Bill Daniel and Pastor Herb Mabe officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
