Mr. Williams served his country proudly in the United States Navy and Civil Air Patrol. During WWII he was stationed on the U.S.S. Sumter in the Pacific theater. He was proud of his service and loved to share stories from his time in the war. In his spare time, he enjoyed crappie fishing and working on old cars. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be missed dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Marie Hurt Williams; grandchildren Mitchell Lee Corso, Jr. and Jennifer Campbell; brother Joseph Williams; sisters Catherine White and Ollie Mae Barnes.
He is survived by his daughters Debbie Campbell and Terrie (Terry) Elwood; sons Harry (Maggie) Williams, Daniel Williams, and Franklin (Jennifer) Williams; grandchildren Teresa Blair, Emily Sato, Cora Williams, Lauren Sanchez, Katheryn DeVincentis, Jessica Williams, Tabitha Williams, and Crystal Jones; and several great grandchildren and extended family members.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 22 from 4 pm until 8 pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Nashville. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday at 12 PM at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
