Laura Stabler Beck passed away on Saturday August 17. Born in 1935 and the oldest of 10 children, Laura graduated from Earnest Ward High School in 1952, then went on to graduate from Pensacola Junior College and Florida State University, and later earned a Masters from UWF.
Laura taught for many years at Jim Allen Elementary in Cantonment, and touched many lives with her devotion to education.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Marvin G. Beck. Laura is survived by siblings Edna, Lynn, Mona, Judson, Libby, Ron, Debbie, and Jackie; children Kevin Beck, Sean Geraghty (Marisha), Brian Geraghty (Renee); daughter-in-law Pam Beck; Teri Beck Robinson (John), Marvin Beck Jr (Patty); 12 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 9:00 am on Thursday August 22nd at St Luke United Methodist Church, with a memorial funeral service immediately after at 10:00 am. Burial will be at Pine Barren Baptist Church cemetery in Century.
