He was born January 4, 1988 in Worcester, MA.
He is survived by his parents, Patrick Lee Matheny II and Patty Louise Drain Matheny. Also surviving are his fiancé, Samantha Bright; his daughters, Aubrey Jade and Freya Harlow-Marie Matheny; his ex-wife, Ashley Hardesty; brother, Shane Ryan Matheny and his wife, Lindsey Darlene; grandparents, Pat and Sue Matheny and Mary and Butch Drain; his aunt, Kim Matheny and his uncle Butch Drain; aunts, Connie Drain-Rowand and Joy “Jaws” Martin and husband, Brian; cousins, Santana Creamer and her fiancé, Andrew Hardy, Phillip Creamer, Makhallie Drain, Makenna Rowand and Kameron Martin; as well as several other cousins.
Michael was a graduate of North Marion High School. He went on to work for Flowers Bakery and recently was employed in the Public Works Department at the City of Clarksburg.
Michael enjoyed listening to music. He loved his daughters and spending time with his family.
The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St. Shinnston.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Pastor Dan Adkins officiating.
Interment will follow at the Pine Bluff Cemetery.
