Nancy was married for 56 years to her husband, Lester Helms who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, a daughter LaDonna Rowell; son-in-laws Rick Hale and Barry Rowell; brothers Tommy and Danny Summey; and a granddaughter Heather Rowell also preceded her in passing.
For many years she worked in the family business; Helms Die Cutting and was a member of Queen City Apostolic Church.
Survivors include her daughters and their spouses; Libby Hale (Glenn Jerman) and Leslie Morgan (Charlie); grandchildren and spouses; Ricky Hale (Stephanie), Rusty Hale (Paula), Jill Dyer (Dan), Michael Morgan (Hope), Hollie Chaney (Manley); 8 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; brother Bobby Summey (Margaret) and sister Judy Dellinger (Buster).
The family will receive friends Friday August 23, 2019 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home in Matthews with funeral service following at 2:00PM. Services will be conducted by Brother Ben Cline, Brother Selma "Sam" Burnette and Brother Michael Hedgecoe. Burial will be in Forest Lawn East Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Diabetic Association or to Saint Jude’s Hospital.
