PATRICIA LOUISE ROSS-DURAN
March 18, 1954-July 2, 2019

Patricia was born March 18, 1954, in Sapporo, Japan, to Ronald E. Ross and Jeannette L. Ross. Due to her father being in the Army, she lived in Arkansas, Pennsylvania, and Texas, before the family settled down in California.

Upon graduating from Seaside High School, Patricia attended Monterrey Peninsula Junior College. She worked for the NCIO Officer's Wives Club in the office until becoming the Main Secretary. She also was California Miss Artichoke Queen.

Patricia worked for the California Department of Corrections as a Corrections Officer. She became a Training Officer, a Sergeant, and finally a Lieutenant at Soledad prison. When Patricia relocated to Las Cruces, New Mexico, she worked for the Dona Ana County Detention Center as a Detention Officer. Before long, she was a Training Sergeant training staff. Patricia became a Lieutenant and became the Dona Ana Juvenile Facility Manager.

After relocating to Roswell, New Mexico, she was the Chaves County Adult Detention Center Facility Administrator for three years. Patricia and her husband, Enrique Duran, became licensed Therapeutic Foster Parents, and through Namaste and Family Pride Foundation, welcomed and cared for many children in their home. They both loved children and made an impact in the children’s lives. She continued doing Treatment Foster Care after her husband passed away in 2010, with the Peak, as well as babysitting for several families.

In September, Patricia worked at Roswell Job Corps as a Security Supervisor. She truly enjoyed being around youth and others and helping to keep everyone safe. Unfortunately, due to Patricia’s illness, she had to take some time off work in May but wanted to return to work as soon as possible. However, God's plan was to heal her completely and call her home to Heaven to rest. Patricia can now be reunited with her parents, Jeannette and Ronald Ross; husband, Enrique Duran; mother-in-law, Bennie Duran.

Patricia has many people in her life that are missing her terribly; her daughter, Bridgette Ross-Ornelas; grandson, Matthew Ornelas; stepsons: Erick Duran, and Dennis Duran; brother, Ronald Ross Jr.; sisters-in-law: Katie Ordonez, Lilly Misquez, Marlene Ross; brother-in-law, Danny Misquez; nieces and nephews: Lupe and Stephen Misquez, Danny Misquez, Deborah Misquez, Holly Ross, Steve and Christopher Mallow; Aunt Berenice Sanchez; numerous other family members: Jackie Hickenbottom, Paula Hummel, Jennifer Hickenbottom Freeman, Heather Ashlock, Stephanie and Stevie Misquez, Jessie Duran, Johnny Martinez, Brandyn Duran, Aubrie and Dillion Ross, Manuel Lucero, Melony Miera, Joe and Rosa Ornelas, Oscar Ornelas, Cecelia Ornelas, Shannah and Alex Banta and Kinzlee, Joe and Lynne McNamara and Riley and Chase; Jesus Alvarado, Lacey and Siana Alvarado; Adrianna and Samara Montoya; Gabriel Walker, Johnny Garcia; and many family and friends. Thank you all for your love and support towards Patricia all these years.

There will be a Viewing at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Saturday, August 17, 2019, from 8:00 AM to noon, followed by a Funeral Service, at 12:00 PM. On Monday, August 19, 2019, Patricia will be taken to Fort Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, Texas, where a Graveside Service will take place at 2:00 PM.
