Ruby J. Warren, 80, of Mount Jackson, VA, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2019.

Mrs. Warren was born August 26, 1938, in Fallsville, AR and was the daughter of the late William Otis Garland and Bertha Martin Garland.

Mrs. Warren was employed as a factory worker in fiberglass forming and sewing. She also worked as a computer operator for the telephone company in Little Rock. For a few years, she and her cousin Charlene Vauges owned a shop, aptly named Cousins, in Ozone, AR, from which they sold quilts, collectibles, and sundries. An avid quilter, Mrs. Warren was part of a guild that met regularly at the old schoolhouse in Ozone; a historic building with significance to many residents of the area. She served as a notary public for ten years and was instrumental in raising funds to complete the restoration of the schoolhouse and support its maintenance as a community center. Ruby most loved being a real estate agent with Glover, Town & Country Realty in Clarksville.

On May 7, 1956, she wed Clarence D. Warren, who preceded her in death after 51 years of marriage.

Mrs. Warren is also preceded in death by her brother, W.O. Garland, Jr.

She is survived her sister, Donna, of Florida; four children, David and wife, Diane, of Mount Jackson, VA, Lisa Lufkin of North Little Rock, AR, Tim, of Aubrey, TX, and Tony, of Little Rock, AR; six grandchildren, Michael and wife, Christine, of Saginaw, MI, Bethany Saechao and husband, Fuix, of Lynchburg, VA, Daniel, of Mount Jackson, VA, and Jennifer Edmonds and husband, Josh, of Timberville, VA, Payne, and Piper, of Little Rock, AR; four great-grandchildren, Mark, and Marie, of Saginaw, MI, Landon, and Hadley Saechao, of Lynchburg, VA; two nephews, William Summers, and Richard Garland, both of Rosetta, AR.

A graveside service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Salus, AR at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2019. The family will receive visitors at the Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville, AR, 7-8p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2019.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or your favorite charity.

Arrangements are being coordinated by Valley Funeral Service in Edinburg, VA and Hardwicke Funeral Home in Clarksville, AR.
