Passed away on August 18, 2019 at his home in Kansas City, MO. He was born on August 30, 1926 in Baxter, Arkansas to Doc and Reola Wilson. Sam grew up in Dermott, Arkansas and was educated in their school system. Sam dedicated his life to Christ at an early age and attended Emmanuel Baptist Church until his death. Sam worked for Trailways Bus Company as an express package handler for 25 years before retiring. In his retirement he decided that the work force needed him once again and drove a school bus for School Services and Leasing for 12 years. He received many awards for safety and attendance during his tenure as a school bus driver. Sam was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his spare time. He often traveled around the United States to visit members of his family and he could always be found on a lake in those states.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents as well as his oldest son, Cecil Robinson Sr. and his youngest daughter, Patricia Wilson-Butler; his two brothers, James Wilson, Woodrow Wilson and sister, Vera Mae Murphy. He is survived by his beautiful wife, Lillie B. Wilson, of the city; his two daughters, Pearl Golman, of Chicago, IL; Darlene Saulsberry; four sons - Sam E Wilson Jr (Joyce), Charles Wilson (Donna), Willie Wilson and Donnell Wilson, all of the city. Sam also leaves behind his sister, Gloria Jean Williams, of Indianapolis, IN; 19 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, 5 great, great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Lawrence A. Jones funeral home, Serenity Care hospice services and Pastor Ronnie L White, Sr. and Emmanuel Baptist Church of Kansas City, Missouri.
