Marion- Brenda Ruth Partain, 75, of Marion, passed away at 5:17 AM, Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Integrity Health Care in Marion.

Brenda was born in Jackson county to Melvin and Mary-Ruth (Parson) Swan. She married Floyd Partain at the Methodist Church in Marion on May 15, 1965. He preceded her in death on November 25, 2011.

She attended college at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and was retired after working many years at Tessa Tape in Carbondale.

She was a Christian who formerly attended Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Marion and more recently Mt. Pleasant Church in Poordo. She ministered to sick and shut in’s by sending cards and letters of hope and encouragement. When she was able, she enjoyed going out to eat with her friends and family, travelling to Branson with her beloved husband and playing Bingo. Most recently though, she enjoyed being pampered. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include-
Daughter- Kim and husband David of Harrisburg

Grandson- -- of Harrisburg

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother- Roger Swan.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Galatia.
