Daniel Joe Davidson
August 20, 1979 - August 17, 2019
NEW CASTLE – Daniel Joe Davidson, 39, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, August 17, 2019.
He was born in Muncie on August 20, 1979, the son of Danny and Nancy (Turley) Davidson. He graduated from Daleville High School in 1998, then entered the US Army, attended Ivy Tech, served in the US Air Force, returned to the US Army, serving twice in the Iraq War, and retiring in 2011.
Daniel was a Construction Engineer in the US Army and after retiring continued his joy of carpentry.
He was a member of Grace Baptist Church and went on various mission trips as part of the work team. Daniel was a recipient and supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his wife of seventeen years, Christina; their four children, Grace, Daniel, Elizabeth, and Abigail; his father, Danny Davidson (wife, Janis), Versailles, KY; his mother, Nancy Davidson (Dan Bronnenberg), Carmel; two sisters, Connie Shaffer (husband, Mike), Tampa, FL and Rebecca Kramer (husband, Matt), Lexington, KY; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Sally Hanavan, New Castle; two brothers-in-law, James Hanavan (wife, Katrina), Speedway and Allen Hanavan (wife, Mandy), Westfield; nieces and nephews, Claudia, Cort, Owen, Noah, Jonah, Brette, Sami, and Luke; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Eula Davidson, Norma and Robert Gritter, and Harold Turley; and his great-grandparents, Lawrence and Mary Bowers.
Services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2019, at Grace Baptist Church, 6401 W. River Road, Muncie, with Pastor Rory Bond officiating. Military honors by the US Army and Veterans of Delaware County will follow.
Visitation will be at the Grace Baptist Church from 4:00 p.m. until service time at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2019.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Christina Davidson for their children’s education fund at Citizens State Bank, 1238 Broad St., New Castle, IN 47362.
