Marcus Stephens was born February 11, 1932 in Smoaks, South Carolina to the late Magdeline and British Stephens. He entered into eternal rest on March 9, 2019.

Marcus was a humble, quiet, and stern gentleman holding the highest integrity among his family, friends and career. He loved watching a good baseball game, fishing with his brothers and friends, and catching Bonanza throughout the week.

He had a quiet demeanor, respecting himself the way he would respect others. With his illness, Marcus never had self pity or allowed his spirit to go down. He had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and was very dedicated to Christ until the day God called him home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother James Willie Stephens.

Marcus leaves to cherish his memories, a loving and devoted wife, Thelma Stephens; his daughters, Brenda Stephens and Linda Middleton; grandchildren, Christopher Middleton, Sam Middleton, and Andrea Middleton; great- grand children, Nyashia Queen Burris, Amaya Middleton, and Madison Taylor Dennis; siblings, Minnie Sanders, Roberta McFadden, Virginia Salley, Ella Williams, Nathaniel Stephens, and Jacob Stephens.

Graveside service: Old Miss Cemetery, Smoaks, South Carolina. Reverend Dr. Norman A. Brown, Eulogist.
