Funeral services for Bro. Robert Simpson Witt, 83, of Bernice will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, August 23, 2019 at Zion Hill Baptist Church, on Cypress Creek Road in Farmerville, La., with Bro. Paul Carter and Dr. Connie Ward officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Cemetery, near Swartz, under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Bro. Witt went to his heavenly home on August 18, 2019. Bro. Witt served in Pastoral Ministry for 36 years. Bro. Bob never met a stranger. He had a desire to help others, was a generous man and was always ministering to others every chance he got. Bro. Bob was a jack of all trades, even having built the house that he and his family lived in. Bro. Witt held many jobs, having served in the Air Force, Milk Man, Rodeo Clown, Deputy with the Union Parish Sherriff's Office, Umpire, Referee, Wrestling Promoter at the Monroe Civic Center, and lived in Alaska for 7 years serving as a S.B.C. Home Missionary.

Bro. Witt loved his Missionary Ministry to the Navajo Indians in New Mexico and Arizona. He and Mrs. Susie served the Children's Haven International Orphanage in Mexico. With his servants' heart, he and his wife, Mrs. Susie, were the owners of The Retirement Center in Farmerville. Bro. Witt was inducted into the Louisiana Rodeo Hall of Fame and also into the LHSAA Sports Hall of Fame for his service as an official for baseball and basketball. He was faithfully married to Mrs. Susie for 62 years and was a loving father to his two daughters and his grandchildren.

Bro. Witt was preceded in death by his parents, Fred C. & Mary Lydia Witt; and grandson, Matthew Frentzel.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Mary Louise "Susie" Franklin Witt; two daughters, Melissa (Mark) Frentzel of Anchorage, Alaska and Cheryl (Brian) Anderson of Deville, Louisiana; three grandchildren, Daniel Frentzel, Colt Anderson and Kealee Anderson; and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Ray Hammons, Ron Manning, Brian Anderson, Colt Anderson, Kasey Kelley and Mike Swinney.

Honorary pallbearers will be Walker Burson, Jim Brown, Russell Adams and Jimmy Dean.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, make donations to The Gideon's International at P.O. Box 124 Farmerville, La. 71241.
