Brenda Allison Murphy, age 72, went to be with Jesus on August 17, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.
A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, she was born on November 18, 1946 to the late Thomas J. and Kathleen C. Allison.
She graduated from Birchwood School in 1964. By the age of 7 she started playing the piano, and by 13 she was playing for her church. She continued nourishing the people around her with love, faith, and music throughout the rest of her life.
Brenda was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nana to Cowboy, Bunny, and Eli.
Preceded in death by her son, Terry Christopher Armstrong.
She is the loving and devoted mother of Stephen Kelly Armstrong, Brandon (Ryan) Mitchell Armstrong, and Katie (Ryan) Murphy Kennedy. Adored Nana of Gabriel Brandon Armstrong, Elena Grace Kennedy, and Elijah Reid Kennedy. Dear sister of Billy (Lynne) Ray Allison and Gary Mitchell Allison.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Hamilton Funeral Home with Brother David Smith officiating.
Interment will follow at McDonald Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
