STEWARTVILLE -- The funeral for Carmen D. Lex will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Rochester.
Carmen Lex, 87, formerly a longtime resident of Princeton, Minn., died Wednesday (June 27, 2007) at the Stewartville Care Center. For health care reasons, she had moved to Stewartville.
Carmen Darlene Applegate was born May 5, 1920, in Princeton, and attended school there. She married James Clifford Dunn in Princeton. In addition to being an excellent housewife, she also worked as a waitress. Mr. Dunn was a taxi cab driver in Princeton and Minneapolis; he preceded her in death. She later married Harry Lex; he also preceded her in death. She loved being around home, reading and doing crafts.
Survivors include a son, James Clifford (Charlene) Dunn Jr. of Emmons, Minn.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Applegate and Alan Applegate, both of Princeton; and two sisters, Rebecca Berg of Minneapolis and Mary Weins of Illinois. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a grandchild.
Friends may call an hour before the service at the funeral home.
