The Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home of Humboldt was in charge of the arrangements, with Pastor Mark Youngquist officiating. Casketbearers were Dennis Janssen, Wayne Olson, Scott Satern, Ronald Aure, Clifford Hellend, and Harold Vosberg.
Survivors include a daughter, Jeanne Powers of Munday, TX; two sons, Paul Bakken of Ashland, WI, and Bruce Bakken of Bode; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Grace Aure, of Algona. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald, two daughers, Margaret and Ruth; a granddaughter; and three brothers, Gottlieb, Henry and Max Janssen.
Della J. Janssen, daughter of Anton and Dorthea (Cirks) Janssen, was born Dec. 23, 1927, near Gilmore City. She graduated from Gilmore City High School and was united in marriage to Donald Bakken.
The couple farmed for 16 years near Bode and later moved to Bode. Following her husband's death in 1993, she continued to maintain her home in Bode. She was a member of the St. Olaf Lutheran Church, and for many years was an active member of a singing group known as the Melody Sisters.
