John Clark, 94, of Fayetteville, NC, previously of Fredericksburg, departed this life on August 14, 2019. He was born January 4, 1925 in Paterson, NJ to Walter and Ida Clark.
John was a retired Staff Sargent in the United States Marine Corps, he served in WW2, and the Korean conflict. After retiring from the Marines, he went on to work at Giant Food as a baker for 22 years.
After retiring from Giant, his wife Edna became ill with Alzheimer’s disease and was in a nursing facility. Everyday John would go see Edna and feed her all three meals for five years. He never missed one day.
It was after Edna’s passing that John met his recent wife Linda Lou, whom he shared eighteen years of marriage with. John loved his family, his many friends, and his dogs, Gizmo, Coda, and Roxy. John will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Lou Clark; his children, Edna Knotts of Mustang, OK, Charles “Chuck” Davis of Kansas City OK, John Clark, of Carthage NC, and James Clark of Fredericksburg; his two granddaughters, Shannon Hackney of Fredericksburg, and Rachel Clark of Cameron, NC; and his great grandchildren, Skyler Stewart, Kayla Hackney, Summer Hackney, Walker Clark, and Amelia Yarborough.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna; and his daughter, Darleen.
A Graveside Service will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Quantico National Cemetery.
