Patricia Sylvester, age 62, of Hammond, IN passed away peacefully at St. Anthony Hospice on March 8, 2012. She is survived by her loving son, Brad. Also surviving are her brothers: Ed (Charlene) Idzik and John (Lori) Idzik; several nieces and nephews, aunts and cousins. A special thank you to her aunt, Molly Tucak for all her help over the years with everything. Pat loved and cherished her granddaughters, Ava and Lily. She was preceded in death by her parents: Edward and Frances Idzik. Pat was a graduate of Morton High School, Class of 1966. During her working career, Pat was with the Hammond Police Department for 31 years. As an active parishioner at St. Catherine of Siena she was a Eucharistic Minister and assisted with the Youth Group. She was on the R.C.I.A. Team, a Parish Pastoral Council member and a willing volunteer for several church events. Pat was grateful to have known all those who were a part of her life including: Dr. Oh J. Lee, Dr. Jacob Rotmensch, Dr. Howard Mishoulam, Dr. Carol Noetzel, Dr. Jeff Stolarz, Dr. Patty Damron-Robinson, the Oncology Team at Munster Community Hospital and the staff at St. Anthony Hospice in Crown Point. Pat had fond memories of her Parish Family, especially Father Kew and Pat Williams along with friends: Carol Halas, Patricia Kocoj, Shirley Johnson and Donna Sanderson. She enjoyed time with her pets and was an avid Notre Dame Football fan.
