Robert Millard Olive, 92, of Apex died peacefully at Hospice Home of Wake Co on Monday, September 19, 2011. Mr. Olive, a native of Wake County, was born on October 16, 1918 to Emmett Olive and Minnie Goodwin Olive. He was a member of Olive Chapel Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Elizabeth Harris Olive, sons: Robert “Bobby” A. Olive and wife, Judy of Apex, and Terry Olive of Apex; daughters: Linda Olive Horton and husband, Rufus of Apex, Carolyn Olive Thompson of Raleigh, Janice Olive Nobles and husband, Jimmy of Apex, and Betsy Olive Miller of New Hill; grandchildren: Lynne Sadler, Scot Horton, Jamie Olive, Bret Horton, Robin Olive, Jonathan Nobles, Joshua Olive, Megan Olive, Jeremy Nobles, Jenna Nobles, Ryan Miller and Wade Olive, and his 7 great grandchildren.
Mr. Olive is preceded in death by his grandson, Rodney Thompson, and his son-in-law, Thomas Thompson, great grandson, Coby Sadler; brothers: Carey Olive, Frank Olive, and Lowell Olive.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 pm Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St. Apex.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Olive Chapel Baptist Church, 600 New Hill – Olive Chapel Rd, Apex. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.
